Maine Huts & Trails operates an acclaimed backcountry recreation corridor through the mountains of western Maine and maintains three award-winning eco-lodges. Now seeking a Summer Hut Caretaker (May 15th–October 13th) who will be responsible for providing a welcoming, friendly, and clean environment for overnight guests and day visitors at Stratton Brook Hut (MH&T's highest elevation hut with dramatic views of the Bigelow Mountain ridgeline). Caretakers undertake a variety of responsibilities, including guest check-in, weekend lunch preparations and sales, housekeeping and custodial duties, trail work, and assisting with operations and periodic maintenance of green energy systems. Caretakers are paid $16/hour with a $1/hour stipend for personal food purchases. Housing is provided for the season onsite at Stratton Brook Hut, and enjoy weekend lunches free of charge, a 30% discount on MH&T merchandise, and a 50% discount on all beverages.

McDowell Environmental Center is making the world a better place by educating tomorrow's leaders about the natural world. Instructors teach classes that are hands-on and minds-on, giving students the greatest opportunity to learn about themselves and better understand our environment. Responsibilities include teaching groups of up to 10-12 students from a variety of age levels and backgrounds on topics that include geology, forest ecology, map & compass skills, earth science, aquatic ecology, Indigenous history, canoeing, team building, and high ropes. Compensation includes pay starting at $350/week (with seasonal raises), all meals, private rooms with shared kitchen, large screened-in porches (with rocking chairs!), laundry facilities, WiFi access, pro-deals, and an intensive two-week paid staff training. Introducing kids and adults to gorgeous wilderness areas in the DC area, Calleva provides outdoor adventure, sustainable farming and nature immersion programs. Now seeking passionate individuals who are excited about coming to work every day — people who aren't afraid of getting dirty or being in the river all day, and who can roll with the punches and have a good time doing it. Instructors/Facilitators will lead land and water-based outdoor adventure programs that include canoeing, kayaking, rafting, stand-up paddle boarding, sailing, surfing, fishing, rock climbing, mountain biking, environmental education, farming, horseback riding, and general camping. In addition to financial compensation ranging from $600–$1,000/week, benefits include meals for all overnight trips, 5-10 days of paid training and summer preparation, pro deal purchases, use of program equipment for personal adventures, and compensation for advanced training or certifications in specific areas.
Calleva is actively recruiting Instructor/Facilitators for the summer camp season — especially needed are biking, kayaking and climbing Instructors.
